Our Practice Offers Full-Spectrum Wart Treatment Options
Acid Based Treatment
Debridement and application of Salicylic acid (or alternatives) derivatives to the site of the wart, which will result in blistering underlying the wart tissue. The patient returns to the office in 2-3 weeks for repeat treatments.
Injection Therapy
A range of injection therapies ranging from immunotherapy interferon to anti-cancer bleomycin to candida therapy may be utilized to combat the wart(s). There may be a necessity to repeat injections every 3-4 weeks depending on therapeutic index and severity.
Cryosurgery
Implementation of cryosurgery is a common practice in the treatment of common warts and can be effective depending on the patient and history of occurrence. A “freezing” surgical technique is utilized post-debridement and the treatment is repeated in 2-3 weeks.
Laser Electrosurgery
Post-debridement of overlying thickened tissue, a surgical filament is used to surgically “burn” the wart tissue. Treatment is repeated every 2-3 weeks.
Laser Treatment
Laser treatment is utilized when a wart has not responded to other therapies. A local anesthetic may be required at the discretion of the treating physician to modulate pain. Treatment may need to be repeated every 3-4 weeks.
Surgical Excision
In some cases, your doctor may recommend surgically excising the wart(s). This can be performed in the office or in the operating room depending on severity.
